We have had an awesome first month of school, renewing friendships, as well as making new friends.
As the fall season arrives, we will observe changes in our outdoor surroundings. We will be painting with fall colors, learning seasonal songs, and of course, talking about pumpkins.
October is a fun month as we listen to many Halloween songs and stories. Some of our favorites are “Looking for Dracula” by Charlotte Diamond and “Big Pumpkin” by Erica Silverman. We will be doing many Halloween related activities as well – such as painting spider webs, fly swatter painting and shaving cream pumpkins.
Halloween will be a little different this year at UMCDC. We would like to have the children participate in a “Halloween Parade”. Please send your child in their costume on Monday, October 30th. At 9:10 a.m., each class will “parade” through the 4’s playground. Parents are invited to watch. If you would like your child to change out of his/her costume, please bring a change of clothes, labeled in a bag. We will post pictures/videos on Instagram.
